The following is a chapter on the building of the first bridge connecting Melbourne to Indialantic Beach.  It is offered for your enjoyment by Carolyn and Mike Durak, authors of The Promised Land - the Malabar Years.  This episode takes place in 1920, and concludes with the bridge workers perspective of the new Tin Can Tourist Campground at the corner of Strawbridge and New Haven Avenue in Melbourne.
